An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Lead Plaster Technician at James Paget
University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The recent CQC report rated our
outpatient services as “Good”, with referral to treatment times being “Better
than the England Average” and waiting times for suspected cancers as
This is a key role carrying a level of responsibility along with a demanding
workload and great opportunity. The successful candidate will:
• Act as the lead specialist for the Trust, covering busy Fracture and
orthopaedic outpatient clinics and providing plaster services to all inpatient
• Have experience of collaborative working with Consultant level medical staff
• Have the ability to motivate staff to embrace new concepts
If you are an experienced Plaster technician and feel ready for the challenge

We are seeking a high performing plaster technician who is committed to ensuring
the delivery of excellent standards of patient care and patient experience
through effective care delivery and innovation in the Trust. The post holder
must also be flexible, innovative, and resourceful with excellent organisational
and developmental skills.
You must have excellent communication skills with an ability to lead and
motivate others. You will also enjoy teaching and supporting junior staff as
well as pre and post registration nursing and medical students.
You will hold a British Casting Certificate in plastering techniques.
You will be expected to participate in the Trusts in-house Band 6 Development
